This feline Polish Army officer has been made for the story I'm writing [link] - he appears there as Polish anti-communist Resistance member. After the battle of the vodka distillery, he and his troopers got assigned to US Army 1st Cavalry Division ( that's why Lt. Zaleski is wearing its emblem on uniform ). It took me half a year to draw him. At first, Staś ( diminutive form of name Stanisław ) was intended to remind character from the book I used to read as child. Since the original character looked awful on paper, I had to find out different design for him. You may write I could draw him in Garfield/Looney Tunes/Hanna-Barbera style, but since Zaleski is Polish, he can't look exactly like American cats. After numerous experiments, I've managed to draw a tomcat, that doesn't look like any popular characters, he even has features of various cat breeds ( fur colour of Turkish Van and face shape like long-haired breeds ) In the main drawing ( in the left ), Lt. Zaleski is supposed to return from 3-days constant fight with commies. Spending 72 hours in dirty trench under enemy fire resulted in mud layer on his face, uniform and equipment, even his M-16A1 proves that the firer felt many unpleasant moments during action. The officer is carrying standard NATO equipment for M-16, bellow pouches, he attached smoke grenade. In left palm, he's holding a magazine for his M-16. Notice his scar on right arm, it's an result of a battle, when he was in the Polish Resistance. Pictures in the upper right part of drawing show his face from side and 3/4 view. I didn't add pattern on uniform to focus on face features. Last part of the drawing is a photo from Zaleski's wallet. Once he met Capt. Pussycat, he felt in love with her and she accepted him. Some of You may wonder, how is possible that American and Pole can have such relationship. The answer is simple - many Poles have been married to Americans since 18th century ( this custom seems immortal ) , besides, since this Polish Army sergeant [link] can have occupant from Red Army as girlfriend, why shouldn't Pole and American have similar relationship ? ( of course, Penelope is not an occupant and the woman from screenshot is Polish actress playing Soviet female trooper ) Last but not least - as Christians, both Staś and Penelope wear crosses under T-shirts. This is intended to underline another aspect of their relationship - despite different nationalities, both are the children of the same God ( as written below their photo ) . Stanisław Zaleski belongs to me Penelope Pussycat belongs to PAWS Inc. |

) i bardziej trafnie.

It's not that I don't like communists. I just don't like them near me.
Besides, it has to show that no matter of nationality and section, all the Christians are the children of the same God. I know it may sound strange, but it's our religion's dogma.
